We offer a wide range of IT facilities to support you during your studies and to ensure you stay connected wherever you are in the University.
We have continued to make a significant investment in our infrastructure at the University. This includes extensive provision of Wi-Fi, email, printing facilities, software applications, and an IT Service Desk to ensure that any IT issues you may have are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
- We have wireless access across more than 95 per cent of the University buildings.
- Computer classrooms are distributed throughout the University, and many of them are open 24 hours a day. There are over 1,000 fixed computers throughout the University.
- All halls of residence bedrooms have Wi-Fi access and cabled network connections.
We provide Microsoft Office software in all computer classrooms. SaintMail is our web-based email service provided by Google, which will enable you to access your University email from anywhere in the world.
Other software is also available for use on IT Services computers for programming, statistical analysis, and database applications. Course material is available online through Moodle.
We provide a secure printing, scanning, and copying facility, that can be accessed from a wide variety of locations across the University. You can also print from your own laptop.
IT service desk
You can find a wide variety of IT help on our webpages. But if you have any problems with your computer account or any aspect of IT, you can visit us at the IT service desk in the main library. You can also log and track your own calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We also run a chargeable PC clinic, where you can bring your own equipment for support and repair.
